Help Ray and Mauria Through Recovery and Renewal

On June 5, Mauria’s husband Ray underwent life-saving brain surgery after a sudden medical emergency. Since that day, their journey has been filled with both heartbreaking challenges and incredible moments of hope.

Ray spent weeks in intensive care, enduring multiple surgeries, complications, and a slow, difficult recovery. He faced setbacks like difficulty breathing on his own and severe brain swelling, yet small victories began to emerge — his first sip of water, his first words, his first steps with a walker. Each milestone has been a testament to God’s faithfulness and Ray’s unshakable determination.

But the road to full recovery remains long and costly.

Ray still battles the effects of brain trauma: he’s unable to use his right hand, continues therapy for speech and mobility, and remains on a feeding tube while learning to swallow again. His vision has been affected, and he requires ongoing physical and speech therapy — expected to continue for at least six more months. Recent complications with fluid on his lungs and infections have led to hospital readmissions and mounting bills.

Through it all, Mauria has been faithfully by his side — coordinating medical care, appealing insurance denials, and doing everything she can to ensure Ray receives the help he needs. Her deep faith sustains her, but the loss of work hours and dwindling funds have made it nearly impossible to keep up with household expenses and medical costs.

Mauria has spent her life serving others — caring, encouraging, and helping those in need. Now she and Ray are the ones in need of a community rallying around them.
