On behalf of the Garrison Family, we are reaching out to ask for support for their brave and beautiful 13-year-old daughter, Piper. Recently, Piper was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal B Cell Lymphoma. She will be receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and while she is already showing incredible courage, her road to recovery will be long and demanding.

Like many of you, we have seen hundreds of St. Jude commercials over the years and supported their fundraising efforts many times. But never did we imagine that pediatric cancer would hit so close to home. It is truly heart-wrenching that any child should be faced with such a horrible disease, and yet we are profoundly grateful for the generosity of donors over decades who have built St. Jude into the place that now stands ready to fight for Piper’s life—just as it has for so many children before her.

The Garrisons live a simple and humble life, one marked by decades of supporting and giving to others in Fayette County. They are the kind of family who would rather be lending a hand than asking for one. But today, in the face of heartbreaking and unexpected circumstances, they find themselves in need of help they wish they didn’t have to ask for.

In November, a serious car accident left both Piper and her mother, Trish, injured. Trish continues to face a difficult recovery, and the family is still working to overcome the financial strain caused by the accident. Now, with Piper’s diagnosis, the frequent back-and-forth trips to St. Jude—more than an hour each way—have added another heavy layer of expense and challenge during an already overwhelming time.

Jamie, Piper’s loving father, is the sole provider for the family. While he is working as much as possible, the demands of treatment mean he must also be present to support Piper and Trish. The family now faces not only the emotional weight of this diagnosis but also the practical realities of travel expenses, home medical modifications for Piper’s care, medical costs not fully covered, and the countless unforeseen challenges that come with such a difficult journey.

Piper is a vibrant, courageous young girl who deserves every chance to overcome this disease and return to the life she loves. The family’s strength and faith remain unshaken, but they cannot face this alone.
