Stand with Penny Smith in Her Health Battle

Dear Friends and Family of my Mother, Penny Smith. As some may know, she has been dealing with some very significant health issues for the past year now. On April 5th of this year one of the masses in her body burst causing an even greater amount of pain, an intense infection, and repercussions to other internal organs. This event resulted in Hospitalization and a medical necessity to take an unpaid leave of absence from work; On May 16th she was faced with the extremely hard reality that she would need to resign. My mother is a Registered Nurse and had recently started a new job which she loved, however she had not been employed at this location long enough to receive their insurance. All medical care received to this point has been out of pocket and she has had no income to cover monthly bills, or gas to get to and from appointments.

Her local medical team’s efforts have been exhausted and she is now being referred to A specialist’s team at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. This is a 5 hour drive from our location but we are very hopeful that the Medical Team there will be able to provide some much needed and anticipated answers, and a plan for the future to get my mom back on her feet again.

Anyone who knows my mom knows that she is the most selfless, caring, and hardworking woman there is. She never complains or asks for anything from anyone, but sometimes we all need a little help.
