Stand with Patricia: Getting Back on Her Feet After Fire
Donation protected

On June 17th, my aunt Patricia (Mickie) Redpath had a house fire that has caused her home to be uninhabitable. Luckily, the person home at the time - her 15 year old granddaughter - was able to get out safely with the pets.
The fire has been completely devastating. All clothes, food, toiletries, and everything in between is not able to be used. My aunt has always been a giver. She’s a social worker and has worn many hats in the field of helping children and families. She personally has fostered countless children since the late 80’s and adopted 7 children who she raised as a single mom their whole lives.
She is a huge part of the church and donates anything extra she has to food pantries and church causes and consistently gives back to the community any time she can.
Her youngest daughter, my cousin Olivia, graduated this year from Sacred Heart Griffin and is set to go off to college after the summer in part for an athletic scholarship, but the rest is up to my aunt.
My aunt along with 4 other people lived in this home that was built by Habitat for Humanity in 2008. The house was built when they heard about everything my aunt has done for not only the children she was fostering and adopting, but also for the community as a whole.
She has done nothing but help people her whole adult life. It’s time we help her now. Any donations will go to clothes, food, toiletries, and to hopefully start rebuilding everything that was lost in the fire.
Any amount of help during this time is enough. We thank God for everyone’s health and safety after the fire, and of course the fire department and first responders on scene. But now we need the community that my aunt has helped for so many years to help her as much as they can.
