❤️ SUPPORT PATRICIA’S RECOVERY & HELP SAVE THE CREATIVE LEARNING CENTER ❤️
Patricia Moran is a dedicated family child care provider in California and a founding member of the Child Care Providers United Union. She has spent decades fighting for – and winning! – higher wages and basic benefits like health care and retirement for her fellow providers.
But Patricia is now facing a serious medical condition, and the State of California does not have Paid Time Off benefits that would allow her to rest and heal – or pay her fairly for the work she does that would enable her to hire additional staff to step back and recover. Without our support, she will need to close The Creative Learning Center, her beautiful family child care in San Jose. Her families will be left scrambling and our State will lose one of the most powerful and effective voices for child care justice.
Patricia has always shown up for others – now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Patricia does not want to abandon her families and fellow providers, but this is a reality that providers like her face during medical emergencies. By supporting her and her school through this time, Patricia can afford to rest and recover while her longtime, trusted assistant steps in to keep the daycare running. Her students will have the stability of a loving and familiar environment to learn and grow, and their parents will be able to stay in their jobs.
As Patricia always leads us to exclaim, "¡Sí, se puede!”
Patricia dreams of the day when providers like her can retire with dignity. But she’s still building on her legacy. With your help, she’ll be back, continuing to raise California’s future and helping to lead the movement for fair pay, paid leave, and the respect all early childhood educators deserve. Let's support Patricia today and stay in this fight together.
Thank you for standing with Patricia during this time. Let’s help her recover!
