Stand with Paola's Family: ICE Detainment
Donation protected
Paola Gomez is my cleaning woman. She is a wonderful, kind woman who is from Colombia, South America. She has been in the Charleston, SC area of the United States for over twenty years and has a green card.
She is married and has been raising her family near me (I don’t want to give out her address because I fear for her safety).
On Tuesday 3/4/25, ICE agents detained her husband while he was dropping off his five-year-old at school. Her husband does not have a criminal record. He had a DUI in 2001 which they are using as a reason to detain him. He is from Mexico and has been in this country working for 24 years as a landscaper. Paola and her three sons are left to fend for themselves. She is meeting with immigration lawyers to find out what, if anything, she can do to help him. It will cost $2500 to retain the lawyer She has two weeks to gather information for her husbands trial in Atlanta to prevent him from being sent back to Mexico where he has not lived for 24 years.
