My name is Amanda Potts. I am starting a Go Fund Me for my Auntie Pam. She is an amazing woman. She has a passion for working and teaching preschool age children. She has worked at HCM Childcare for 37 years, and before that, she kept children in her home. She is a very dedicated teacher and loved by all. Her students that she works with are like they are her own children. She invests everything into them. She also helped/helps with her nieces, nephews, and great nephews and nieces. She always told me: "I may not have my own children, but you all are as close as I will get". She is more than an aunt to me, is more like a 2nd mother to me. She is one of my best friends.

Recently she has had to be off from work for heart and blood issues. While she was seeking treatment for these medical concerns, they found a small spot on her lungs that they were concerned with. This turned into a long waiting process and more time off work, as well as more medical bills. She has been diagnosed with stage 4B Uterine Cancer. She has a rather large tumor growing on her uterus. After further testing the doctors have determined that the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes and her lungs. Due to the size of the mass, the cancer not being isolated, and other health issues, surgery is not an option at this time. She is getting a port put in so that she can start chemotherapy. The doctors are unsure of when she will be able to return to work. She is not eligible for her SS because she is not 65 until the end of the year.

The hopes for this Go Fund Me is that we can come together to help take at least a little of the stress and worry off of her plate. She will be out of sick and vacation days soon. She is looking at needing to help pay things like water, trash, electric, as well as massive medical bills that she currently has and that are to come. The money raised from here out will help cover an independent insurance as well as any medical bills that will acrew from here.
