UPDATE AS OF 11/13/2025 at 12:25pm
We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for Ms. Diana. If you haven’t seen the wonderful news she is HOME where she belongs. Every message, share, and donation has meant the world to her and to all of us who care so deeply about her well-being.
At this time, Diana has what she needs, thanks to this incredible community. But many people in similar situations don’t have a network ready to raise their voices for them. In the spirit of spreading the support that made such a difference for Diana, we encourage you to consider donating to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund.
➡️ Please donate here: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/midwest-immigration-bond-fund
Your contribution will help others facing immigration detention who, like Diana, deserve a chance to return home to safety and stability. Many individuals will be seeking bond as soon as next week, and your support can directly change someone’s life.
Thank you again for standing with Diana and for extending that compassion to others who need it just as much. ❤️

UPDATE as of 11/7/2025 12:02PM
Diana remains in ICE custody and has been moved to the ICE facility in Clark County, Indiana. An updated Habeas petition seeking her release was filed on her behalf as of Thursday night. The new filing can be found here
Her team anticipates that there will be a hearing in federal court next week, where they will seek a bond hearing to swiftly seek her release from detention.
Your support matters - lets get Ms Diana back home to our community.
UPDATE:
With the extremely generous donations of parents and community members from across the country, and Alderman Martin's help, parents are Rayito were able to retain top notch immigration defense counsel for Miss Diana. The legal team, led by Kalman Resnick, filed a habeas petition on Diana's behalf in the Northern District of Illinois within 7 hours of her abduction. This petition asks a federal judge to rule that ICE is detaining Miss Diana illegally and seeks her release from detention. Judge Daniel reviewed the petition the same day and has since ordered that she not be moved outside of Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin. We are hopeful that the government complies with this court order. A hearing in her case is scheduled for next week and our community looks forward to supporting Diana and her legal team as they hold ICE accountable for their abuse.
Our beloved teacher, who was not just an educator but a central part of our community and the hearts of our children, was illegally detained by ICE this morning while showing up to work.
She was living and working in the United States with a valid work permit and pending asylumn application and is the mother of two children, who are now left without a caregiver. Our hearts break for her family, and we stand united in demanding her immediate release.
She has children of her own and we are raising money to support any legal fees that may arise from this situation, costs to help her get back on her feet once she's released, covering this time while she out of work and support for her children
Please donate what you can; any and all is more than enough.
Also to be abundantly transparent, we wanted to share how these fundraising dollars will be handled:
- All proceeds will go to Diana Santillana
- We will send all of these funds to Diana's bank account when she provides us with this information, or to The HPG Legal team to help cover funds for her release (Tony Ashley is the individual handling HPG legal)
