The Heart of Our Family, Our Business, and Our World

We never imagined we’d have to write something like this. Our family’s life has been completely turned upside down. Now, more than ever, we are clinging to faith, leaning into hope, and reaching out to our community for strength and support.

Our beautiful mama, the heart and soul of our family has recently been diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS), an extremely rare and aggressive cancer that is most commonly seen in children.

For an adult to be diagnosed with ERMS is not just uncommon, it’s devastating.

It’s a diagnosis that shattered us.

How do you find the words when your world stops spinning? When doctors tell you the unimaginable…that the strongest woman you’ve ever known is now facing the fight of her life?

It has felt like the floor was ripped out from beneath us.

But if you know our mama, then you know this: she is a warrior.

She is light. She is love. She’s the kind of person who makes strangers feel like friends and friends feel like family.

The kind of woman who shows up for everyone, no matter what she’s facing herself.

She’s the glue that holds everything and everyone….together.

For the past 13 years, our parents have worked side by side running a small business Ellie Reece Boutique, an online shop built with their own hands and hearts. It’s more than a business to them, it’s their dream, their livelihood, and a part of their identity. They’ve poured their souls into every detail of it while raising their family, pouring love into their 8 grandchildren, building community, and making people feel special and seen.

But now, with our mom so sick, everything is at risk.

She’s already feeling the weight of her illness. She can barely work long hours anymore.

Her body is weak. And as she begins chemotherapy, her strength will only continue to fade. She won’t be able to work as much, or as often, if at all.

And our dad, while doing everything he can to care for her and keep the business going, can only do so much.

They’ve always worked so hard. They’ve never asked for anything. But now, they need help.

We are raising funds to help cover:

• Medical bills, tests, and treatment costs (including chemotherapy and possible travel for specialized care in Houston, TX)

• Living expenses while they’re unable to fully operate their business

• Supplemental care, medication, and home needs

• Anything that allows our mama to focus on healing, not stressing over how to keep everything afloat.

If you’ve ever met our mom, you know her joy is contagious. Her faith is unwavering. Her love is fierce.

She is everything to us… A wife, a mama, a mimi, a daughter, a best friend.

And now, she is a woman standing in the middle of the biggest battle of her life.

But she’s not standing alone.

We believe in the power of community. We believe in the power of prayer. We believe that God is still in the miracle working business.

He’s done it before, and we are believing with everything in us that He can DO IT AGAIN.
