On 3/16/2025, following an ordinary day in the Cabbell household, Onyx had a seizure and was rushed to Riverside Hospital where he was stabilized and later transported to CHKD in Norfolk for further treatment. Onyx has been hospitalized since the 16th and has undergone a multitude of tests including MRIs, PET scans, lumbar punctures, bone marrow testing, various labs, and a biopsy of spots found on his brain. On 4/3/25, Onyx was diagnosed with Erythroblastic Sarcoma, a type of acute myeloid leukemia that is very rare. Onyx has started an intense schedule of chemotherapy with the possibility of radiation. Ola and BJ have been by Onyx’s side throughout this extremely difficult time; their ability to work has been, and will continue to be, very limited.
