We are Daniela and Maria and we are Olivia’s aunts. Writing this is one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do, but we will do anything to fight for our niece.

Our sweet Olivia is only five years old. She is the light of our family—gentle, kind, and full of love. She should be running, playing, and dreaming about kindergarten adventures. Instead, we are faced with heartbreaking news: Olivia has been diagnosed with mitochondrial disease, a cruel and degenerative condition that slowly takes away a child’s ability to walk, eat, and live freely.

For Olivia, this means that one day she may need a wheelchair, a feeding tube, and constant medical support. As a family, we are devastated, but we are not giving up. Olivia deserves the chance to live her childhood, to laugh, to dream, and to keep shining her light in this world.

To give her the best possible care, we need to take her to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). This means countless trips from New Jersey, endless appointments, and overwhelming medical expenses. Her parents are carrying the weight of the world right now, and we want to ease that burden so they can focus on what matters most—loving and caring for Olivia.
