Stand with Noel: A Father's Love and Loss
Donation protected
My name is Vicki Lyttle. My daughter, Kady, and I are raising money to help Noel Moats.
Those of you who have met Noel know what an incredible person he is. Whether you’ve crossed paths at the store or ran into him outside on a walk, I can guarantee he left a lasting impression.
Noel, a former marine, welcomed his daughter, Amanda, into the world thirty-one years ago. A few years into Amanda’s life, Noel found himself as a single father, caring for a daughter who had been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. Noel knew the best thing to do was to quit his job and become Amanda’s fulltime caretaker and boy, did he care for his daughter. From Disney trips to Saturday Chick-Fil-A visits, he made sure to give Amanda the best possible life that she could ask for.
On Easter, Amanda was admitted into the ICU with pneumonia, where she spent twenty long and excruciating days fighting to get better. On Saturday, May 10th, Amanda unfortunately succumbed to her illness, with her father by her side as he was for her entire life.
At this time, Noel can only afford to pay rent for the next two months. After that, he faces homelessness. Noel relied on in-home health benefits that he received for Amanda’s care to help cover the majority of their rent because his Social Security Income will only cover a fraction of the cost.
Our goal is to raise at least six months of rent for Noel to allow him additional time to figure out his next steps and avoid losing his apartment. We’d like to bless Noel for all the selfless sacrifices he has made.
