Hello, my name is Nikki. I’m a single mom, a recent college graduate, and someone living with a serious chronic illness. Today, I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea for help. My child and I are on the verge of losing our home, and without support, we have nowhere else to go.
I live with sickle cell disease, a lifelong condition that causes sudden, severe pain episodes and serious health complications. It limits the kind of work I can do, and after trying my best at a minimum-wage job, I was forced to quit due to worsening symptoms. Since graduating this May, I’ve been actively applying to jobs that accommodate my condition—but I haven’t been able to secure steady income in time.
Meanwhile, rent and utility bills have piled up, and now my landlord has given me a firm deadline: June 30th. If I don’t come up with the funds, we’ll be evicted. The clock is ticking, and I’m out of options.
That’s why I’m humbly asking for your help to raise $10,000 to cover immediate needs and stabilize our future. This is a breakdown of how the funds will be used:
$5,000 — Overdue and upcoming rent to avoid eviction
$2,000 — Outstanding utility bills (electricity, water, internet, HOA fine)
$1,500 — Emergency housing or moving costs if we’re forced to leave
$1,000 — Transportation, groceries, and basic essentials while I continue job searching
$500 — Medical expenses related to managing my sickle cell disease
Every single donation, no matter the amount, is a light in the darkness—keeping us one step away from homelessness and one step closer to hope. If you’re unable to donate, please share our story with others. You never know who might be in a position to help.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us. Your support means more than words can express, and it may be the reason we get through this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
Nikki ❤️
