Stand With Nepal: Support Families Affected by the Devastating Flash Flood
Appeal by Non-Resident Nepali Association UK (NRNA UK)
Nepal is facing a devastating humanitarian emergency following a sudden and catastrophic flash flood that struck northern Nepal on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
The disaster began along the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa district, near the Nepal–China border, causing widespread destruction in areas including Timure, Rasuwagadhi and Syabrubesi. Homes, businesses, roads, bridges, power infrastructure and other essential facilities have been severely damaged, while many people have been reported missing. The floodwaters have also moved downstream, putting communities along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems at serious risk.
Rescue and relief operations are currently underway, with the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and other agencies mobilised to search for those missing, evacuate vulnerable communities and provide emergency assistance. The full extent of the human and material losses is still being assessed.
We urgently need your help
The Non-Resident Nepali Association UK (NRNA UK) is launching this emergency fundraising appeal to support families and communities affected by this devastating disaster.
