My name is Rashika Chamlagai. I am the founder of the NSA ( Nepalese student Association ) at Univeristy of North Carolina at Greensboro. This Gofundme is created by US collegiate coalition of Nepalese Student Association. We are 45+ student groups based in USA.
On September 8, 2025, peaceful youth-led protests against government corruption and the sudden social media ban turned into a national tragedy. Students, many in their school uniforms, were met with tear gas, rubber bullets, and live ammunition. At least 16 young lives have already been lost, and hundreds more have been injured. Hospitals across Kathmandu and beyond quickly ran out of blood, medicine, and supplies, leaving countless families desperate for help.
Corruption in Nepal runs deep, with political elites enriching themselves while ordinary citizens struggle without proper healthcare, education, or job opportunities. Public funds that should build hospitals, schools, and infrastructure are instead lost to mismanagement and favoritism. This broken system has forced many Nepalese to leave their homeland in search of a future their own country has failed to provide.

We are Nepalese students, born in Nepal, and although we now study in the United States, Nepal is our home country. Our families, communities, and roots are directly tied to the people most affected by this crisis. This effort is deeply personal to us because it is about standing in solidarity with our homeland.
Our transfer plan to get the funds from our GoFundMe to the intended recipients: We have been in contact with several reputable nonprofit organizations in Nepal, including ECO Sathi Nepal, Nepal rising and others and have documented every step of our outreach and planning.
Once the fundraiser ends, all funds will be directly transferred to these trusted organizations to ensure transparency and accountability.
How the funds will be spent:
- Cleanup and recovery efforts in affected areas such as ( Singha Darbar, Maiti Ghar and other public Places )
- Helping families of victims who lost their lives
- Supporting civic hospitals by providing much-needed medical supplies
- Food and basic necessities for those displaced or struggling in the aftermath
- Every contribution will go directly toward supporting Nepal and its people during this urgent time of need
We, the Nepalese Student Associations across the USA, cannot stand by in silence as our brothers and sisters bleed for democracy and freedom. From miles away, we feel their pain and honor their courage. Together, we are launching this fundraiser to provide direct support and relief to those most impacted by this violence.
