Stand with Nathan: A Brother's Heart Needs Help
Donation protected
Nathan is my younger brother and only sibling. When he was just 21 years old, he found out he had stage 3 lymphoma cancer for unknown reasons. Being the warrior he is, he battled the cancer and finally was able to beat it but suffered some serious health issues due to the chemotherapy being so hard on his body.
For the past few years, Nathan has been fighting congestive heart failure. Last week, he went to his cardiologist for a routine check-up and was immediately admitted to ICU because his heart was much worse than what the doctors anticipated. As I’m writing this, he is having open-heart surgery to have a pump put in while he waits for a new heart. Nobody truly knows how long that could take.
Nathan has been out of work for a month from this and is going to be out of work for quite a while after his procedure, but his costs of living don’t stop, unfortunately. Our mother makes multiple trips back and forth daily, 45 minutes each way to the hospital, while also missing work, so it’s really taken a toll on our family. We aren’t the type of family to ask for help, but nobody can prepare for a tragedy like this. We just don’t want him to have any worries once he comes home from this surgery.
Nathan deserves nothing but the best and has really been dealt a tough hand in life. The last thing he needs to worry about right now is how he is going to make ends meet. He’s a hardworking man and he’s an amazing father, son, brother, and uncle. We all just want to help him through this the best we can. Anything helps! If you can’t donate, please give this a share.
