We are a group of retired former Nassau County NY employees from the CSEA Local 830 who are fighting Nassau County to prevent them from reducing our earned and promised health benefits. We are now in a legal fight on behalf of over 5,000 retirees to preserve our health benefits. When we took our jobs many years ago, we were told that we would keep our health benefits in retirement. Years later, the county is reneging on their obligation even though it is contractually obligated, and putting thousands of retirees and their families at risk. Public service workers took lower paying jobs than their counterparts in the private sector knowing they would not make as much working, but they would be OK in retirement.

Attacks on Public Service Retirees Health Benefits are occurring all over the country. Public service retirees have been hit harder than any other group of retirees in New York State.

Please help us to stay in the fight and set precedent for others around the country.

The NRLF was formed as a 501(c)(5) non-profit charitable corporation in order to legally collect funds to pay for expenses incurred in this fight. We do not use any money collected for pay or profit. All funds go to the lawyers and for minimal expenses.

We have also partnered with the NYS Coalition of Public Service retirees to help in the aid of have legislation passed that if signed into law would prevent this from happening to any other NYS Public Service Retiree.
