Stand with Nacho: Urgent Family Support After ICE Abduction
Donation protected
José Ignacio De La Cruz “Nacho” - valued community leader and co-owner of New Frameworks, was violently abducted by ICE on Saturday, June 14th, along with his 18 year-old stepdaughter, Heidi, who had just graduated high school the week prior. Nacho is a deeply loved and essential part of our community. Beyond being a skilled leader and builder, Nacho is a cornerstone of the work New Frameworks does to create healthy, climate-resilient homes in Vermont and beyond. His leadership and care have shaped policy, people, and projects. He is a father, a husband, and a friend. And right now, his family is in crisis.
We are calling on our extended community to show up for Nacho and his family in this terrifying moment. They need immediate financial support to survive the sudden loss of Nacho’s income. Members of his community raised over $3,000 within the first 24 hours of learning of his detainment to help support the family, however, this is just the beginning of a potentially long and arduous process.
