Stand with Morgaynn in Her Recovery Journey
Donation protected
This is one of my good childhood friends, Morgaynn Gorski. Her story resonates with me because no human should have to endure the mental, physical and financial burden of being disabled due to a distracted driver. This economy is tough enough to live in without the stress of wondering when or where your next paycheck is coming from. I’ve watched her remain strong through the constant disappointments from doctors and surgeries. Morgaynn continued to fight every single day, but this isn’t a battle she should have to carry on her own. I am asking that you send whatever amount you can to help make the stress less heavy for her. Thank you!
January 13, 2022 will forever be the day that altered my life. I was driving home from work and while I was waiting for the traffic to clear, I was rear ended by a truck with such force they shot me into incoming traffic. I was in my senior year of college with only 2 months remaining, but due to my injuries, I was told I would have to work twice as hard to graduate by May with the rest of my class. Though I walked away with numerous injuries, the most severe was 3 herniated discs. Since the incident occurred, I live with little to no feeling in my left leg, constant numbness and excruciating back pain. September 7 2023, I was finally receiving a hemilectomy and disectomy to free up the nerves in my lower back with hope that it would relieve the pain and numbness I was experiencing. Unfortunately, that was not the case. A tear in my dura and spinal cord occurred during the first surgery. September 12, 2023 (5 days later) I ended up back in the ER with the possibility of having another spinal surgery. Due to the severity of the spinal leak and how big it was, they had to go back in manually to patch it up. Unfortunately, my story does not end here. 7 months later I was left with the same amount of pain and numbness that I had before my surgies. The journey to live a normal life continued, from manual manipulation of my back to small medical procedures to try and find relief. After nothing seemed to help, the only option left was a spinal fusion. I have endured 3 surgeries in less than 7 months at the age of 27. And like any normal 20 year old, I was just beginning to embark on my lifelong career, excited for what life had to offer and not prepared to deal with loads of medical bills.
