My name is Jurette, and I’m creating this campaign for my beloved mother, Margarita, affectionately known to many as “Mommy Gie.” She has been a mother not only to me and my brother, but to so many others. Whether through care, counsel, comfort, or simply being present, Margarita’s heart has always had room for one more. She is the kind of person whose warmth feels like home.
A month ago, we received heartbreaking news. My mom was diagnosed with a High Grade Carcinoma, Stage 4 Uterine Cancer, and was told she may have only two months to live without treatment. Instead of accepting that timeline, we, her family, friends, and all those she has mothered, chose to fight for her life.
And Margarita is choosing to fight too. Not just for herself, but for her grandchildren, the next generation she dreams of seeing flourish. She wants to be there when they serve full-time missions, walk across the stage at graduation, and kneel at the altar to be sealed in the temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She wants to live those milestones with them, not just hear about them.
Her greatest joy is being a Grandma. These are the children she’s fighting for.
But the medical bills are overwhelming. She is unable to work, and our family is doing everything we can to care for her physically, emotionally, and financially, but we’re falling short. On top of that, the insurance coverage is nearing its annual limit, which means more expenses will soon need to be paid out of pocket.
In the fight of her life. Margarita during her first chemotherapy session.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go directly toward:
• Medical treatments (chemotherapy sessions, surgery, etc.) and medications
• Nutritional and supportive care
• Transportation and caregiving needs
• Daily living expenses
Your support gives our mom strength. Your prayers, shares, and gifts remind her that she is surrounded by love and that she is not fighting alone.
From our hearts to yours, thank you for standing with Margarita.
With love,
Jurette & Family
