Hello everyone,
I hope this message finds you well and thank you for coming to my GoFundMe page. The day before Christmas Eve, I received a call from my lung doctor, and they said they had good and bad news. The good news was, I didn't have lung cancer, but the bad news was my aortic aneurysm had grown to 5 cm, bursting size, and I was told I needed to have my doctor look at it immediately. When I received the call, I sat in confusion. Then I panicked. I panicked because all of the questionable symptoms I thought stemmed from "a cold"—the excruciating migraine, the metallic taste in my mouth, the loss of smell, and the agonizing thought of, "I'm being poisoned"—started to make sense. My aneurysm was leaking. I then called my daughters and went to Maury Regional Hospital. While there, their nurses kept telling me I was fine and I was going to be discharged until one of my daughters told them about the aneurysm, and I was given a CT scan. As my family and I sat there awaiting the results, a doctor came running into my room advising me I was going to be life-flighted to Vanderbilt for immediate open-heart surgery, that my aneurysm was indeed rupturing. I had open-heart surgery that night. It was supposed to take 7-8 hours, but my wonderful surgeons completed the surgery within 5 hours. On Christmas Eve, I was in ICU. On December 26th, I graduated and went to the Step-Down floor. While on the Step-Down floor, I couldn't breathe well, and it was discovered by the ENT I had polyps growing on my vocal cords, so I had another surgery to remove them and have been recovering from that surgery as well.
I thank God for his wonderful blessings and miracle. My surgeon told my children, "Your mom was in the darkest pits of the Earth, and I have never seen anything like her power in my thirty years of doing this." "Her surgery was no joke; it is one of the riskiest surgeries we do here."
Though I am facing a financial burden, I am still a living testimony of God's power, will, and love.
I am reaching out sharing a deeply personal, life-altering experience, humbly asking for your support for the upkeep of myself, my home, and any other extra-related expenses I incur while hospitalized, as I am unable to cover all of the costs on my own.
Any contribution, no matter how small it may seem, will make a BIG difference.
I thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your support and kindness during this time is greatly appreciated.
With Love,
Molly
