Stand with Mohsen Mahdawi: Advocate for Peace and Justice

I am Sven Karlen, a friend of Mohsen Mahdawi. I am the fiscal agent for this fundraiser, which seeks support for legal and other expenses on behalf of Mohsen, a Columbia University student of Palestinian origin, residing in Vermont since 2015 with permanent resident status/green card.

Mohsen was detained by immigration officials on April 14, 2025 and put into deportation proceedings in violation of his free speech and due process rights.

Although his legal team has secured his release, the team still needs to enjoin the state department from seeking his deportation, and to secure a just conclusion to his bid for citizenship.

The funds raised will be applied to his legal fees, his extraordinary expenses as he tries to complete his studies while preparing for further legal proceedings, and, ultimately, in support of his mission to promote mutual understanding, respect, peace and justice between the Palestinian people and those of Israel.
