Mindy King is the heartbeat of our family and our Woodward community. At 53 years old, she is a devoted wife, a loving mother to two sons, and a doting "Nana" to two precious grandchildren. Mindy has spent her life pouring love into others—now, she faces a mountain that no one should climb alone.
A Critical Diagnosis: The Need for Urgency
Recently, our lives were turned upside down when Mindy was diagnosed with Advanced Stage DCIS BREAST Cancer. This is an incredibly hard and debilitating disease, and because of the advanced nature of the diagnosis, we must move forward with the utmost urgency.
While Mindy has complete faith that God will bring her through this storm, we are facing a battle that requires every resource available. Your donations are VERY MUCH NEEDED and so deeply appreciated as we seek the necessary medical care and advancements in today’s modern medicines to give our wonderful mother and wife the best possible chance.
The Fight Begins: Surgery on March 26th
The battle starts this week. Mindy is scheduled for a double mastectomy on Thursday, March 26th, at OU Health in Edmond. This major surgery is a critical step, but it is only the beginning of a long road to recovery and continued treatment.
