Stand with Mike on this battle

We all know this year is bringing much excitement and happiness to the Galvin family with two new additions to the family, but they have recently received some horrific news that Mike will be starting the battle of rectal cancer. Mike has been diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer that has also unfortunately spread to lymph nodes.

With this diagnosis, Mike will be starting treatment with two months of a combination of both daily radiation and oral chemo. Following these two months, he will start chemo for a total of 4 months with hopes that this 6 month treatment will further prevent him from needing surgery. But surgery is not out of the window until things are readdressed following the treatment.

Mike is a loving fiance to Danielle, amazing father to his 3 children and caring grand father to his grand daughter, with 2 more grand daughters on the way. He is family to many and a friend to many more.

We all know the all around caring, devoted hardworking man Mike is, who is always there to lend a hand to anybody in need. Whether you are family, a friend, or even a stranger drowning in the lake he will be there to help. We have always been amazed at how Mike is always in the right place at the right time, and unfortunately for his health that is not the case. So lets be the ones that are there for him; in the right place, at the right time.

Mike will be taking many challenges during this battle between his health, caring for his family as well as not being able to continue to do his job at Alkegen. He is not one to ask for help so we want to come together to make this life changing battle easier in any way we can. There will be many doctors appointments along with the radiation treatments Monday through Friday with daily drives to Syracuse, chemo treatments and ongoing medical care over the next few months while being out of work.
