In Late April of 2024, Mike started having issues keeping down food. Thinking it was severe acid reflux, he delayed going to the doctor. After losing 15 lbs., Mike went into the ER to find out he had a large mass in his throat that was blocking him from swallowing most foods. In early June after further tests, Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer that had metastasized. This news was devastating and realization that change is coming was inevitable.

The doctors told Mike that he would need to quit working to save his caloric intake for chemotherapy. Mike has worked at Bachman's for over 45 years as his one and only job. Mike loves flowers more than most people. Finding out he wont be able to work on his garden as much, taking away both his job and his favorite pass time has been really hard for him.

At this time, we do not know the extent on medical bills but with Mike out of work, there is less money coming in. We do have STD which will help but does not cover the extra expenses. Thank you for any type of help.
