Support Michelle’s fight Against stage 4 Metastatic Cancer

On May 21st my world was turned upside down when we learned that my best friend Michelle Vitiello Steinhauser (age 46) was diagnosed with

Metastatic Breast Cancer (Stage 4).

Michelle went to the doctor with what she thought was lower back pain. We were under the impression that she might have had a bulging disc. Having beat stage 1 breast cancer 6 years ago, after the birth of her youngest child, we thought we were in the clear. Cancer was not a word that was on our radar anymore.

We are beyond shocked and devastated by this news now that Michelle will yet again be fighting another battle against this horrific disease. The cancer is now in 3 spots in her spine and hip.

This is the start of a lifelong medical plan. Michelle will undergo an intensive course of treatment that involves lifelong systemic therapy and next month radiation. There is unfortunately no cure and as the disease progresses she may undergo new treatments and procedures to manage physical complications.

We are so grateful for the support everyone has shown us thus far. Michelle is so lucky to have a community of friends and family who love and support her during this most difficult time in her life.
