Stand with Michael Hendrickson in His Health Battle
Donation protected
We are raising funds for Michael Hendrickson and his family. Last April Mike went into the ER after a lot of coaxing from his family for a wound on his foot. Almost immediately they started talking about amputation. He was transported to Abbott Northwestern were after some exploration and tests they confirmed that he once again had necrotizing fasciitis ( a year and a half before we almost lost him when he had it in his stomach).
Long story short, he had 4 surgeries on his right foot. He spent roughly 6 weeks in Abbott before being transferred to a TCU for recovery. He spent another 6 weeks there until he came home.
Mike was then able to be at home to recover and continue to work from home for another year when things took a turn for the worse. Mike had to undergo an above knee amputation of his right leg. After the surgery Mike struggled to regain consciousness and steady breathing. Mike actually had to be intubated. After days of being intubated and sedated a tracheostomy and tube feeding had to be placed.
Since then Mike has now lost his job and healthcare. Kerri has been diligently by his side in this hard time. Mike has since gained consciousness but he still fights with his BP, kidneys that still aren’t doing what they are supposed to do, lung function is depleted and other multi organ issues. He is still using a ventilator to help with his breathing and he is holding on to the extra fluid. Mike has recently started to be treated with dialysis to help with the kidney issues. Mike has had to travel between multiple hospitals to get all his cares met.
We are hoping during these hard months of recovery that we can help ease some of the burden of medical and household bills in this time of healing to get Mike's health back on track. Anything helps including prayers, positive thoughts, and healing wishes.
