We are raising urgent funds for Maynor Alfredo Gutiérrez, a day laborer who was arrested next to the Home Depot in Hempstead, New York on November 3rd. During the arrest, five ICE agents violently accosted and arrested Maynor, with no warrant and no reason, just as many day laborers have been targeted across the country. After days of uncertainty, the family learned that Maynor has been transferred across the country and is now detained in San Diego, far from his loved ones and community.

Maynor’s brother has been incredibly supportive and is speaking out publicly, but the family is overwhelmed, and unable to shoulder the costs ahead. They will need legal representation, travel funds, and support for basic needs as they fight for Maynor’s safety and release.
