Last week. Our beloved friend Matt lost his life after being shot and killed by police during a mental health crisis. His sudden and heartbreaking death has left his family and community reeling with grief.

Matt was so much more than the circumstances of his death. He was a devoted father, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. He brought warmth, humor, and love into the lives of those who knew him. Like so many, Matt struggled with mental health challenges — but he never stopped trying to be there for the people he loved.
