Today, one of our own needs us.

Martina, a G4 flight attendant based in CVG, is currently in the ICU after suffering a sudden and life-threatening ruptured aortic aneurysm and underwent open heart surgery.

She had been flying a heavy schedule, doing what we all do showing up, pushing through delays, long duty days, and exhaustion. Then one morning, she woke up not feeling right. Something told her not to fly. She called out… and that decision saved her life.

Because shortly after, everything changed.

What could have happened in the air… at 35,000 feet, is something we don’t even want to imagine.

This is the reality we all quietly understand, but never think will become our own.

Martina is the kind of crew member everyone hopes to fly with kind, selfless, dependable. The one who shows up no matter what. A true “girls’ girl,” a real friend, and someone who takes care of everyone else without hesitation.

Now, she needs us to take care of her.

She is awake, but still in the ICU, facing a long road to recovery. And during this time, the last thing she should have to worry about, especially as a single mom is how she’s going to pay her mortgage, cover her bills, or make it through the time she can’t work.

Because we all know the truth of this job:

If we don’t fly, we don’t get paid.

This is where we come in.
