Asking for assistance for my coworker and friend who was wrongfully arrested and detained by ICE at her immigration appointment. She is here legally on a valid work visa and is legally married to an american citizen. She is currently detained in the newark facility, known for its terrible prison-like conditions. Marisol is a wonderful, kind, gentle women who works two full time jobs to make ends meet and to pay legal fees to her immigration lawyer. Im asking for financial support to offset the cost of her legal fees as well as to contribute to her commisary at the detention center to enable her to purchase food and supplies while she is being held there. She has zero criminal history, has done nothing wrong, is here legally and has still suffered the trauma and terror of being arrested and held in a prison. Her story is sadly not unique at rhe moment and there is little we can do to help her from the outside beside try to offer some relief from the financial stress she is suffering and try to make her conditions there more bearable. Please consider helping this beautiful person in any way possible, large or small. Funds will be given to her husband to put into her commisary and pay legal fees.
