My name is Maranda May. On August 19, 2025, my son-in-law, Austin Bland, underwent major surgery to remove a tumor from his brain and spine. He spent two weeks in ICU and is now on a long road to recovery. His neurosurgeon has said that Austin cannot return to work for at least four months.

Austin is self-employed and owns Black Atlas Garage Doors, which means being out of work puts an incredible strain on their family finances. During this time, his wife and my daughter, Mariah, is working full-time while also preparing to take her boards to become a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Together, they are raising their 12-year-old son, Alex, who lives with them full-time.

We are asking for help to ease the burden of household and living expenses over the next four months while Austin focuses on healing. Any contribution—no matter the size—will go directly toward supporting this family as they navigate such a difficult and uncertain time.
