Let’s stand with Maria Lisa (Mona) Hermida Higgins as she bravely faces cancer.

She was diagnosed with one form of cancer that was successfully removed through inpatient surgery, as well as a second, unrelated form of cancer that has required ongoing radiation therapy since September. While insurance provides some support, it covers less than half of her medical expenses. Mona has had to pay a significant portion of her surgery, radiation treatments, and infusion therapies out-of-pocket.

By helping to ease this financial burden, we can allow her to focus her strength on healing, rest, and recovery—without the added weight of financial stress.

So many of us have been touched by her strength, kindness, and unwavering love, and now we have the chance to come together and support her in the same spirit she has always shown others. My mother has always given deeply of herself to everyone who crosses her path, offering care, compassion, and encouragement through their own challenges. Now, we have the privilege to be there for her in this important moment.
