Stand with Marcus Harper Against Injustice

My name is Marcus R. Harper. I am a 29-year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department. I am a dedicated servant, known for my faith, love for my family, integrity, and love for the community that I serve.

In July 2020 I publicly addressed police misconduct that many deemed inappropriate. I expected there to be some form of retaliation because of my comments. In September 2020 I was placed on administrative leave and was the target of a federal investigation. The case was presented to a federal grand jury, and I was not indicted. The case was then sent to the Oklahoma State Attorney General’s Office and multiple counties refused to prosecute the case.

The case was then taken by the Rogers County District Attorney’s Office. I was subsequently arrested on November 2, 2021 for accessory after the fact and obstruction. I was immediately placed on leave without pay and have been in that status for the past 2 ½ years.

Shortly after my arrest, the first assistant district attorney of Rogers County, who was the lead prosecutor on the case that resulted in my arrest, was suspended, and subsequently resigned due to alleged prosecutorial misconduct. A second assistant district attorney of Rogers County was also suspended and subsequently resigned due to alleged prosecutorial misconduct.

My mental, physical, as well as financial well-being has been severely impacted for the past 4 years.

I am respectfully asking for assistance with my legal fees and other expenses as I continue my fight for justice against this malicious prosecution.
