Stand with Manuel’s Family in Crisis

Dear Community,

On January 9, ICE detained Manuel during his yearly ISAP (Intensive Supervision Appearance Program) check-ins for his immigration case.

Manuel is a member of many communities. He is a member of the vibrant Ecuadorian community. He was a member of the Columbia Heights community, where he built a life with his wife and their two young daughters.

Despite having a pending U-visa application, Manuel now faces deportation. His sudden detention has turned his family’s life into a crisis. They are being forced to consider the possibility of voluntarily returning to Ecuador, leaving behind the home, stability, and future they worked so hard to create together in America.

Since Manuel’s detention, his family has faced immense emotional and financial strain. The cost of securing an immigration attorney to fight for his right to remain in the United States is way beyond their means. At the same time, the family’s ability to work and meet basic needs has been disrupted as their legal status remains uncertain and ICE activity increases in Minnesota.

Manuel is a devoted father and spouse who worked tirelessly to provide a better life for his family. Today, they need our help and this is an urgent call for support. I am reaching out to kindly ask you to consider making a donation in any amount that feels possible for you. Your generosity can make an immediate and meaningful difference by helping secure legal representation and providing essential support during this difficult time.

Giving now is a powerful way to stand in solidarity with this family and offer hope when they need it most.

In solidarity and gratitude,

Patricia Cuesta, a family friend supporting the family with housing.

Estimada comunidad:
