Help Manny Rebuild and Keep His Doors Open
Last night, Manny's (@welcometomannys)—a beloved civic engagement hub in San Francisco’s Mission District—was vandalized and broken into again.
Under the cover of nearby ICE protests, agitators smashed windows, defaced the building with hateful slurs, and scrawled threats like “Die Zio,” “The Only Good Settler is a Dead One,” “Death 2 Israel is a Promise” and “Intifada” across its walls. Manny received explicit death threats, and the space was left in disrepair.
This was not just an attack on a cafe —it was an attack on a community space that stands for dialogue, democracy, and belonging.
For years, and especially since October 7th, Manny and his Jewish-owned space have been the target of ongoing antisemitic harassment and intimidation. Yet through it all, Manny has continued to open his doors—to host conversations across difference, to welcome diverse voices, and to build bridges in a time of growing division.
Now, he needs our help.
This campaign will help cover:
Urgent repairs (windows, security, graffiti removal)
Increased security measures to keep staff and guests safe
Financial support to cover lost revenue during closure
Long-term resilience so Manny's can continue operating without fear
Every dollar helps. Every show of support sends a message: We will not let hate win.
Let’s come together as a community and show Manny—and the people who rely on this space—that we have his back.
Please donate and share widely.
