Help Giving Box Hero Margaret (Maggie) in Her Health Battle

Hi …this is Margaret aka Maggie. You may recognize her as the face of “The Giving Box”, a grassroots group that has helped many families in the Northern Dutchess County NY and surrounding areas for 10 years.

Maggie is going through a very rough patch right now. Not only did she lose her beloved mom in 2023. but she has been struck with multiple major health issues

and now she could use a little help.

From Maggie:

”Infection in my spine, pulmonary embolism, on life support, infection in my blood and sprained ankle (no clue). I was in ICU 1 week and 2 weeks on a regular floor. I am on bed rest now at home.”

“Still learning to walk but with walker. I require 24/7 supervision as I am a fall risk. I also have a limb alert because of my pic line which I have learned to clean and do daily 24/7 medicine for my spine infection. I go to the Fusion Center weekly for a dressing change, vitals and blood work. I see my primary through tela visit mostly, but along with my primary I have many specialist to mention a few Neurosurgeon and Infectious Disease Doctor”

On top of this, she is a diabetic, and in need of much. “we are a family of 4. I am diabetic on insulin short and long term so special diet is required. We also have pets.”

She goes on to say,” No one prepares for such an emergency illness. When this happens it’s very traumatic for the whole family. Having my children see me not being able to walk without a walker short distances other wise I require a wheelchair and needing assistance for everything is horrific. “

Maggie has given so much of herself, even texting people to help others from her hospital bed. Would you please consider a donation to help this brave woman? Your donation will help with monthly bills, medication, food, transportation and also she really needs a transport chair.
