Stand with Lynn & Bambam for recovery from mudslide damages.

Dear Friends and Community,

With a heavy heart, Bambam ( our Yorkie mascot) and I are asking for your support in helping The Malibu Bungalows rebuild after a devastating mudflow swept through the property, causing extensive damage to this beloved, family-owned, and community-driven space.

By the grace of God, the Malibu Bungalows did not burn down during the Palisades Fire, suffering some damage and a mandated closure. Despite the challenges, I felt incredibly fortunate that we hadn’t lost it all and was eager to reopen as a beacon of hope and a gathering place for our community.

Tragically, a MASSIVE MUDFLOW caused by the burn scar left by the Palisades fire rushed down Las Flores Canyon before we could reopen. It tore through the property, leaving behind three feet of mud and heavy debris that caused significant damage.

Three of the five bungalows—home to three small but mighty women-owned businesses—were inundated with mud and debris. Now, the Malibu Bungalows and the small businesses that call them home face the unimaginable task of an extensive and costly rebuilding process beyond my financial means.

Helping others has always been my passion. As the founder of Strong Villages, a nonprofit organization that provides medical treatment to Indigenous communities in South America, and as the owner of The Malibu Bungalows, I’ve dedicated my life to creating spaces where people can connect, grow, and support one another.

We've been honored to host Malibu-based organizations like the Malibu Surf Association and the Malibu Art Association. I believe in the power of community, so I offer the property for their events at no cost.

Now, I find myself in the difficult position of needing help. Insurance claims or federal assistance, have been non-existent or minimal and I’ve held on as long as possible. Unfortunately, we need the support of our community, to recover and reopen.

I humbly ask for your generosity in rebuilding The Malibu Bungalows and restoring this cherished space. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference in helping us get back on our feet.

We will use the funds to remove all the mud from the property repair drywall, repaint, and replace lost products, plants, and equipment from the wildfire and mudflow.
