A Heartfelt Plea to Help Lucy Fight for Her Life
We never imagine it will happen to someone we love—a diagnosis that changes everything. But for our dear Lucy Parent, 64 years old and full of grace, courage, and love, life has taken a devastating turn.
Two years ago, Lucy began her brave fight against kidney cancer. Through every appointment, every treatment, every sleepless night, she held onto hope—and for a while, it seemed like she was winning.
But cancer is cruel.
It found its way into her bloodstream… and then into her brain. Surgeons did all they could, but were only able to remove 70% of the tumor. Any more would have meant risking her ability to speak, move, or live with dignity.
Now, Lucy faces the hardest fight of all: radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, ongoing pills to try and slow the cancer’s spread.
And she’s doing it without insurance, without the safety net so many of us take for granted.
The costs are overwhelming. The initial radiation alone is $12,900. Add to that the surgeries, medications, and in-home care she now needs just to get through each day.
Lucy has spent her life giving to others—offering her kindness, time, and love to anyone in need. She’s the first to show up, the last to complain, and the one who always puts others before herself.
Now she needs us.
We’re asking—humbly and with full hearts—for your support. Whether it’s a donation, a prayer, a message of encouragement, or simply sharing her story, it all matters. It all helps.
Let’s wrap Lucy in the same compassion she’s always given so freely. Let’s help ease her burden and show her she is not alone in this fight.
From all who love her: thank you. Thank you for seeing her. Thank you for standing with her. Thank you for being part of her hope.
