Stand with Lisa: Overcoming Cancer's Return
Donation protected
Cancer 2.0
First of all, thank you for visiting this GoFundMe page. Secondly, thank you for all your prayers, well wishes, and donations (from the first campaign) to help support some of the costs involved while Lisa continues her treatment journey.
As many of you know, Lisa was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in late 2023. After spending most of 2024 in NYC for a grueling 47 weeks of chemotherapy and 25 days of radiation, Maria (Lisa) Sison finally was able to return to Maui to try to resume her life as it was before she was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma. Since her return to Maui, she returned to work part-time and transitioned back to full-time recently. She also enjoyed snorkeling at the beautiful beaches Maui has to offer and has been able to enjoy all her other favorite activities.
After being cancer-free for roughly 6 months, Lisa was in NYC for her quarterly PET scan and the results were unfavorable. The cancer had come back in other places in her body and was aggressive. She returned to Maui to clear up some loose ends before heading back to NYC to undergo more chemotherapy for an undetermined amount of time depending on how her body reacts to the new drugs she will be receiving.
We are once again reaching out to our incredible community of family and friends for your continued support. Lisa has shown extraordinary courage and resilience through every step of this journey, but the road ahead remains uncertain and challenging. Your donations, no matter the size, will go a long way in helping ease the financial burden of medical treatments, travel, and living expenses while she undergoes further care in New York.
Please consider donating and sharing this GoFundMe page with others who may be willing to help. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Lisa—your love, prayers, and generosity mean more than words can express.
