Stand With Lisa In Her Cancer Fight❤️‍

Cancer sucks. And just as it has reared its unwelcome head and disrupted so many other lives, it’s now come knocking on our beautiful sister Lisa’s door.

I wish EVERYONE had a Lisa in their life! She and our sister Catherine are my best friends in the entire world. We’ve been doing life together for more than 54 years (which is weird bc I could have sworn we were just in our 30’s?!?!?)

Lisa is more than our precious sister. She’s also a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a gushing grandmother, and a genuinely wonderful human! Lisa has not only been a nurse for 36 years, but also the primary caregiver along side our sister Catherine, for the last nearly 15 years of our dad’s life. She’s compassionate and generous by nature and is always willing to support her loved ones through life’s challenges. She shows up for ALL of us and never even considers the toll her selflessness takes on her own wellbeing.

Her recent diagnosis with squamous cell carcinoma after noticing a tender lump in her neck was exactly the opposite of what we were hoping for. Thankfully Lisa was quick to follow her instincts, making the trip to Fayetteville rather than accepting a nearly month long wait to be seen locally in her hometown area of Fort Smith. Both her radiation and chemotherapy teams are in Fayetteville so she will have to remain there Monday - Friday for at least the next seven weeks. This means that she will not only lose her income for a substantial period of time, but will concurrently have to manage the added expenses of lodging and meals as well.

I’m sure that many of our dear friends and family members will want to help in even a small way and for this reason I have , with help from our sister Catherine, put this go fund me together. Any donation that is manageable for you will go a long way towards making this very difficult time in our sweet sister’s life so much more manageable. It took a LOT for her to surrender to the idea of reaching out, but the truth is, she would be doing the same for us if the tables were turned.
