Stand with Lindsey in Her Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
On October 2, 2024, at 36 weeks 3 days pregnant, Lindsey was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of breast cancer. She happened to be seeing my OBGYN that same day and they decided they would induce her on that Friday at 37 weeks so they could start treatment as soon as possible.
Lindsey’s world has been literally turned upside down. Just a few weeks after giving birth to her absolutely perfect baby boy she started Chemo. On October 18th Lindsey and her husband Jake spent their 9th wedding anniversary in a chemo clinic for her first day of treatment. Lindsey fought through months of treatment and endured every side effect you can imagine all while continuing to raise her 4yo daughter and newborn son. In February she had an MRI done and learned that Chemo was no longer working. She was scheduled for a mastectomy on March 1st. The procedure was tough. She had a single modified radical mastectomy in which they removed her entire right breast along with 24 lymph nodes in her arm pit. When the pathology reports came back the doctor confirmed he got clear margins. Lindsey recovered from surgery and devised a plan with her Oncologist for the next round of treatment. While recovery continued Lindsey and her husband Jake purchased a beautiful home that they had been working towards for years. Everything was going well and right on track but In June Lindsey started having some extreme pain and other major side effects. She went to the hospital where they gave her some pain meds and did an CT scan. The results of that CT scan showed that cancer had returned to her liver. A few days later a biopsy was done and confirmed the cancer had spread. As of June 18th lindsey was officially diagnosed as Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer metastasized to the liver she was told that this is incurable.
She has been given 2-3 years to live. lindsey knows that a lot can change, new drugs will be developed and 2-3 years could be much longer. She has no plans to stop fighting!
In the words of Lindsey “I will not be defined as the girl who got cancer, I WILL BE THE GIRL WHO KICKED CANCERS ASS!!!”
Many have asked how they can help during this time. Lindsey will have a multitude of doctor’s appointments, treatment will be long, and bills don’t stop when she can’t work. Let’s help them take away some of the financial burden of her not being able to work as often. Any amount is appreciated!
