Stand with Lia: Secure Her Future and Freedom

The HOPE Club at Florida Institute of Technology is seeking to raise funds on behalf of

one of its international student members who is currently facing severe financial

hardship. She is appealing to kind-hearted individuals and organizations, both near and

far, for support to cover her tuition and living expenses. Lia (To protect her identity

and safety, specific details have been kept confidential), a student from a devout

Muslim family in Asia, made the personal decision to follow Christ after arriving in the

United States. Unfortunately, this decision led her parents to cut off all communication

and withdraw all financial support. As a result, she was forced to withdraw from her

summer semester courses due to unpaid tuition.

By God’s grace, she has been admitted to another university where she can continue

her education and rebuild her life. However, she urgently needs a minimum of $30,000

per year to cover tuition and essential living costs. Her inability to secure this funding

has damaging consequences on her; “This has been the most challenging season of my

life. The thought of returning home terrifies me; not only because it would mean the end

of my academic aspirations, but also because of the severe consequences I would face.

If I return, I risk religious persecution, physical torture, which you mostly hear from

Muslim countries, and the threat of forced marriage. There is no space for me to

practice my faith freely in my home environment. The fear of torture and death awakens

and haunts me every midnight.”

For the past five months, the HOPE Club and other kind-hearted individuals have been

covering Lia’s rent and living expenses. However, her lease is set to expire next month,

and she must also begin classes at her new university at the same time. Now more than

ever, she urgently needs our support to secure housing and resume her education

without interruption

Lia chose faith over fear, and now she faces losing everything, her education, her

freedom, and her safety, unless we stand with her. Your donation is more than money;
