I am reaching out at a deeply important and time-sensitive moment in a legal matter involving my intellectual property and a show concept I created centered on women over 50. These first 48 hours are critical. I need to raise $15,000 so my legal team can immediately begin the appeals process.

Many know me from my decades in broadcasting, my Olympic journey, and my work building platforms that support women and independent creators. I have always believed in finishing what I start and standing up for the value of creative work.

In 2025, I filed a lawsuit against QVC and its parent company for the unauthorized use of my intellectual property. Recently, the case was dismissed on jurisdictional grounds. This does NOT address the merits of the case. It means the matter now moves to the appeals process.

I have personally funded this legal effort using money originally set aside for retirement because when independent creators do not protect their work, it becomes easier for larger entities to use those ideas without accountability.

To initiate the appeal, I must raise $15,000 within the next 48 hours so my legal team can begin immediately. The full legal cost of the appeal is estimated between $25,000 and $45,000.

There is a limited window to act. The appeal must be filed within 30 days of the dismissal, and I have been in conversation with litigation funding organizations, but those processes are lengthy and complex. After exhausting traditional options, at my daughter’s suggestion, I am opening the door for community support and allowing those of us who believe in creator rights and accountability to stand with me.

This effort is about more than my individual case. It is about whether independent creators have the ability to pursue accountability when their ideas and intellectual property are used without proper credit or compensation. I have already invested in this fight financially, professionally, and personally, and I am committed to seeing it through.

This case has been publicly reported, including coverage in Law360, a national legal publication, for those who would like additional context regarding the original filing. The piece is entitled, "Ex-Olympian Says QVC Stole Idea For 50+ Lifestyle Brand."

If you can contribute, I am deeply grateful.
If you are unable, sharing this campaign is equally meaningful.

Every show of support helps ensure this appeal can move forward.

With gratitude,
Leslie
