Dear Friends and Family,
After sharing her recent diagnosis of stomach cancer, Leontyne’s village is coming together to strengthen her and stand with her during one of the most difficult challenges of her life.
If you have ever been touched by her kindness, encouragement, and loyalty, we are humbly asking that you become apart of her small village of support during this challenging time. Here are a few ways that you can rally around her and ease the burden:
1. Spiritually - If you are a person of faith, please speak Leontyne’s name before her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. Please pray for complete healing and total remission. Also please pray over her team of doctors and medical providers that she has entrusted to help her through this illness.
2. Emotionally - If you know Leontyne, then you know she loves any opportunity to encourage and cheer for you and your families. Whether it’s a new career opportunity, recent accomplishment or just you looking good while navigating life, Leontyne is a true cheerleader for so many of us.
While undergoing chemotherapy, particularly during this current flu and virus season, her doctor’s have given her fairly strict isolation guidelines (at least during this first chemo cycle). So, we want to surround her with each of your faces. If you have pictures of you all together, your family, or just you living fabulously that she can add to her existing photo wall of friends and family, this would be a tremendous source of inspiration and comfort. 3. Financially - Unfortunately, with the type of chemotherapy that Leontyne has been prescribed, insurance limitations have forced her to pay for the majority of her treatment out of pocket, including the first 4 cycles of chemo. We are grateful to God that she was able to cover her initial $30,000 in medical expenses. However, one of her greatest concerns is that she has almost exhausted her savings to try and fight this disease.
To give her peace of mind and allow her to solely focus on healing, please consider contributing to her existing, as well as any necessary, future medical expenses. Leontyne will also be using several supplemental, holistic wellness treatments, which also comes with a significant cost. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference and mean the world to her.
Friends and family, thank you so much for standing with Leontyne as she takes on these difficult physical and emotional challenges and financial burdens. It has taken several months of physical pain and emotional stamina to get us here, but we are so grateful that Leontyne has chosen to fight.
Together, we can remind her that she is not alone and that her village of friends and extended family are behind her every step of the way. As you know, one of her greatest joys has been being William and Brenda Brown’s daughter. But now we stand in the gap as her brothers and sisters.
