Stand with Larry: Overcoming Rare Cancer
Donation protected
Hey everyone, my name is Sybil Sprouse. I’m setting this up for my big brother, Larry Robinson, who was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Carcinoma Small Cell of the Bladder.
Neuroendocrine Carcinoma Small Cell of the Bladder. 98% of these cancers are in the lung. 1.5% are in the kidneys, and he falls into the 0.5% that's left. MD Anderson has had 7 cases of Neuroendocrine Carcinoma Small Cell of the Bladder. One guy lasted almost 2 years. The others less than a year. All 7 did chemo, radiation, and surgery to remove the bladder. He doesn’t think he is going to have his bladder removed if the end result is still the same. This cancer is ultimately fatal. Larry just finished chemo and will have a PET scan tomorrow to see if the chemo helped. He is scheduled to begin radiation this week also. He is very, very weak; the last round of chemo really took everything out of him. Larry was an over-the-road truck driver for most of his adult life. He also served his country in the US military for 8 years.
Larry was recently approved for disability, but it is barely covering his monthly bills, so anything you can give would be a great help to him and his wife, Bridget. Larry has worked his whole life, and even asking for help is hard for him.
