Hello everyone, my name is Larro. This is very hard for me to write and/or ask. I'm not one to sit and do nothing. I'm a real man. I work hard. I'm a provider but I have a family who means more to me than my ego.

This all happened so fast. On Monday, August 4th, I was rushed to the ER at a very popular hospital on the west side of Chicago. My blood pressure was extremely high at 220/100. A shock to me because I was never told I had high blood pressure. The doctors were able to bring it down by giving me a blood pressure pill and a shot. I was sent home immediately after.

Overnight, my symptoms got worse. I called and informed the hospital and was told to take a Benadryl. I couldn't sleep and was rushed to a different ER.

I experienced a sudden and severe stroke that turned life upside down in an instant. What started as an ordinary day quickly became a fight for survival and now begins the long road toward recovery.

Since the stroke, I have been facing enormous challenges — from relearning basic skills like walking and speaking, to enduring countless medical appointments, rehabilitation therapy, and follow-up care. Recovery is possible, but it’s a marathon that comes with overwhelming financial strain.

This fundraiser will help cover:

• Medical bills and hospital expenses

• Physical, occupational, and speech therapy

• Mobility aids and home modifications

• Daily living expenses while unable to work
