Help Mason Attend Purdue – Support the Moore Family
Over the last 13 months, our family has been navigating the unimaginable. On June 26, 2024, our middle son, Landon, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Since that day, life has changed in every possible way. Landon has bravely endured multiple surgeries, six rounds of chemotherapy, and, six weeks of daily radiation in Ohio. He’s fought with more strength and spirit than we could have ever imagined.
While we are incredibly grateful that he’s made it through the most intense part of treatment, the emotional and financial toll continues. Between countless trips for care, missed work, medical bills, and just trying to keep our household afloat, it’s been incredibly difficult. Our focus has been on survival; physically, emotionally, and financially.
And in the midst of it all, our oldest son, Mason, has had to grow up far too quickly.
Mason quietly carried the weight of his senior year on his own while Jonathan and I were consumed with Landon’s care. He applied for college, scholarships, grants, and student loans on his own. He never once complained, and he has been our family’s quiet rock through the storm.
Now, after everything, Mason has been accepted to Purdue University, and we couldn’t be prouder. But we’ve just learned that his final payment is due by August 25th, and despite all efforts, we are still short. As his mom, I can’t begin to express the guilt I feel for not being more present for him this year. I hate the thought that we’ve come this far, only for him to have to put his education on hold.
This is the part that’s hardest to write: we need help.
I’ve always been reluctant to start a GoFundMe. We’ve received so much generosity already, and for that we are forever thankful. But today, while trying to find last-minute scholarships, I realized many are closed, and time is running out. So, once again, I come to our incredible community of family and friends.
Any donation you give will go directly toward Mason’s college costs and supporting our family’s ongoing financial recovery from the past year. If you’re not in a place to give, please consider sharing this campaign, it means just as much.
Mason is bright, kind, funny, and full of promise. He deserves this chance. And Landon’s fight is far from over, your support allows us to keep showing up for both of them along with our other two boys.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for walking this road with us.
With love and gratitude,
The Moore Family
