Stand with Krista: Brain Tumor Battle

I started this GoFundMe for my mom, Krista Gumphrey to help with her bills while she is out of work fighting multiple brain tumors.

About a month ago, my mom started experiencing some alarming symptoms: dizziness, confusion, slurred words, lack of depth perception, migraine with aura, and pain. Her doctor found a lesion on the thyroid & followed up with an ultrasound. We thought she was out of the woods when we were told they would recheck in a year. Unfortunately, her symptoms continued, so we thought it was viral and it would pass. On April 23rd, she was experiencing stabbing pain behind her eye sockets. On April 24th, symptoms increased & she started vomiting. After numerous tests, mom was told she has a large tumor (5 cm, the size of a lime) on the back of her brain, as well as many smaller tumors in other parts of her brain. She has been put on steroids to reduce the swelling, anti-seizure & anti-fungal meds. Her pain level has been a roller coaster for days and is being managed with a variety of pain meds.

Mom has a long, tough journey ahead. Early this week, we will be meeting with the neurosurgeon and will find out the timeline and course of treatment. Please keep mom in your thoughts & send all the positive vibes ❤️❤️❤️

As you may know, she is a single mom of 3 grown children (Kelsie Casperson, Aaron Hoffman & Bailey Hoffman and two grandsons Keoni & Hayden). She is a full-time artist, she loves to paint, and enjoys working craft shows and street fairs. Art is what brings her joy & peace. It fuels her soul. We are working hard to make it possible for her to still create art within the 4 corners of our little hospital room.
