Domestic Violence
On December 26th, 2024, Korinne, a 24-year-old female, was brutally choked, hit, shoved into structures & had things thrown at her by her live-in boyfriend the evening after Christmas. She had just arrived at their home from work & attempted to wake him up as he was asleep in bed. Korinne quickly realized he was drunk and told him she would leave for the evening as his drunken state was a broken promise that he would stop drinking. Korinne tried to gather her keys & her phone when he got up, yelling at her, choked her & struck her across her jaw. Korinne, being about 100 pounds smaller than him, tried to get him to stop, pleading with him as he continued a verbal onslaught & continued throwing household items at her. Korinne recalls seeing the rage in his drunk eyes as she started to black out. She was desperately trying to get outside & eventually did.
Health
Korinne ended up sore & bruised with bruising around her neck from being choked. Korinne has suffered great emotional trauma & is living in fear being in the same town as him. She managed to get free from his grasp and ran outside with her phone & keys. She had texted her Dad minutes earlier, he lives nearby & was on his way. Korinne's father showed up & tried to contain the offender. By this time with neighbors as witnesses. Korinne has lost a tremendous amount of weight from living with this individual in fear & anxiety. Korinne is under 80 pounds now.
Police Involvement
Korinne is now safe, body healing, and very emotionally scarred. She has a restraining order against the assailant and felony charges are pending for this horrible domestic violence offender. Whoever called 911, thank you.
Income & Poverty
Korinne had been working & supporting the offender & his 3 offspring on minimum wage in North Idaho in Boundary County. Barely getting by & living check to check, Korinne has been unable to save anything for her dream. She desperately wants to move away from her assailant to start over in safety & go to school.
The Dream & The Ask
Her dream is to get her own apartment in or near Coeur d'Alene or Post Falls, Idaho & start Beauty College at one of the cosmetology schools in the area.
It’s a very real struggle to save for first month’s rent & damage deposit, moving expenses, let alone money for school when she has been supporting herself, her boyfriend & his 3 kids, plus maintenance & repair of a well-used vehicle on minimum wage. Idaho minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour.
It would be such a blessing & a gift if she could receive the grace & mercy of others to help attain these goals and start following her dream.
